Kedves Magyarok,

15 March 1988, meeting at 12.00 a.m., in front of Cross Keys Hotel,
182 High Street, Dalkeith, a small town where Kossuth also stirred up emotions
among
the Scots (along with Selkirk where we celebrated last year's March 15):
We are going to celebrate the national anniversary March 15th. Mr
David Smith of Dalkeith has very kindly agreed to give us a speech on
the part Kossuth played in the life of Dalkeith (and Scotland in
general), after which we could sing some Kossuth-songs as last year
(Kossuth notakat es verbunkosokat). We have proposed to have lunch
afterwards in Old Meal Market Inn, a very friendly pub with a
fireplace. The price of the meal is stlg5.50. Those interested are
required to make their own way to Dalkeith, and pay for their own
lunch.
Transport to Dalkeith from Edinburgh:
a/ red buses: Numbers 3; 30; 82.Numbers 3 and 30 run every half an
hour (Wester Hailes, Haymarket, North Bridge, Dalkeith), and it takes
about 30 mins to get to Dalkeith from North Bridge. 82 runs from
Charlotte Square to George street to Dalkeith, though less frequent.
In order to be able to book the restaurant/hotel bar, it is VERY
IMPORTANT FOR US TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE intend to attend the
celebrations in Dalkeith. So please let us know by Friday evening if
you are planning to come, and if you are bringing any additional
friends/family members.
Also, those who know Hungarians and Hungarian-related people who
would be interested, but are not not on the email, PLEASE LET THEM
KNOW about it, and ASK THEM TO INFORM either me (Szilvia Papp, 30/5
Pilrig House Close, Edinburgh, EH6 5RF, Tel: 553 5684) or Zsuzsanna
Varga (8 Annandale Street, Edinburgh, Tel: 557 5309) as soon as
possible.
We are delighted to report that a fair number of people (cca 22) have
contacted us about their intentions to come along -it seems that we
are going to have a lovely time. Please do not hesitate to bring
along friends, husbands, wives, children etc.. Everyone is welcome!!
