Kedves Kornyeszek !
Kb. egy hete levelvaltasba keveredtem itt Vorsatz Diana
cikkevel kapcsolatban, ami egy "demografiai katasztrofarol" szamol be
a New York Times cikke kapcsan. A dolog nem hagyott nyugodni es utana-
neztem egy kicsit jobban. Tehat lassuk elobb az adatokat :
A CIA Factbook alapjan Magyarorszag lakossaga :
1991 : 10558001 ; 1994 : 10319113
Ez 3%-os csokkenesnek felel meg.
Erdekes, hogy az ENSZ demografiai kiadvanya mas szamokat ad meg :
1985 : 10579000 ; 1991 : 10365000 ; 1994 : 10161000
1985-91 : -2.1% (-0.29%/ev) ; 1991-94 : -2% (-0.5%/ev)
Ennyit a statisztikakrol.
Ugyanakkor a halalozasi es szuletesi ratak 91-ben es 94-ben (CIA) :
91 : 12 szuletes, 13 halal/1000 lakos
94 : 12.46 szuletes, 12.72 halal/1000 lakos
A kulonbseg valoszinuleg csak a szamitas pontossagabol adodik, bar ezt
sohase fogjuk megtudni.
A varhato elettartam 91 es 94 :
91 : Ferfi : 68 No : 76
94 : Ferfi : 67.37 No : 75.58
Magyarorszagon
ebben a tekintetben nincs nagy valtozas, a szuletesi rata nem csokkent annyira,
mint mas orszagokban (kb. 1.8 gyerek/no). Ezekbol a szamokbol ugy tunik, hogy
Magyarorszagon a nepesseg fogyasanak uteme valamelyest megnovekedett
es ez a varhato elettartam kisebb csokkenesevel van osszefuggesben.
Az ENSZ tanulmany masutt latja Kelet-Europa lakossagcsokkenesenek okat :
" A substantial net out-migration from these six countries of almost 700
thousand persons, mostly to Western Europe, was observed for the period
1985-1990. The 1994 Revision estimates an increase of net out-migration to
more than 850 thousand people for the period 1990-1995."
(A hat orszag : Bulgaria, Csehorszag, Magyarorszag, Lengyelorszag, Romania
es Szlovakia)

WANTED:
Expert on Plastics Recycling
(or someone willing to do some research and become an
expert)
for the
Ecology CenterUs Plastics Recycling
Task Force
Have you ever wondered why BerkeleyUs curbside recycling
program does not pick up plastic? Well, many residents
are wondering the same, and the City Council has asked the
Ecology Center to develop a recycling plan for plastics.
The Center has established a Plastics Recycling Task Force
to do a feasibility report.
The Ecology Center is the grassroots environmental
organization that has conducted curbside recycling in
Berkeley for the past 25 years. It also runs an
environmental education center and bookstore and manages
the three farmersU markets in Berkeley.
The Task Force is currently composed of Ecology Center
staff and board, recycling experts, and concerned
citizens.
We are looking for knowledgeable graduate students who can
contribute time to do a little research and attend Task
Force meetings. The Task ForceUs report will have a great
bearing on whether and how plastics are recycled in
Berkeley.
Specifically, the Task Force is trying to assess:
% How much of what kinds of plastic are being used
% Alternatives to plastics
% Markets for recycled plastics
% Environmental and worker impacts of recycling plastic
% Costs of curbside plastics recycling
Please call Ecology Center Board Member Charles Gary
(444 - 7854) if interested.
