How incredibly boring you are. I would have thought that anyone with half
the intelligence you have would have come up with a new improved slogan
instead of this worn-out banality. But, then again, we check your prose,
and it is rife with mediocrity. It is reflective of your mentality --
banal.

The laws of the land are created by the rich and powerful to serve the
interest of the powerful and rich, and if the powerful and rich overlook
the verbal coding of the law, then they add the proviso of "unwritten" to
their ethos. It is the rich and powerful who own the media in order to
disseminate their code. This code is parroted by the population at large.
Only the handful of honest, the clear-eyed, the poets, artists, dissidents,
visionaries, describe things as they are -- they do not parrot worn out
banalities like ARBAIT MACHT FREI!

This is not true. Work does not make one free. Work makes the rich and
powerful free. The rich and powerful make others work in order to make the
rich and powerful free. That is the frormula. That is the truth. What you
post is political bullshit, aka bureaucrap.

Those who live by this credo are habitually in comtempt of the laws of
humanity, of human life. That's how you make your Mark isn't it?

FINANCE MINISTER, GENERAL VICTOR STANCULESCU,
by Wally Keeler
Written during the summer of 1991
for a Canadian readership
A month after Canadian Energy Minister Jake Epp's unpublicized
visit to Romania, the Mulroney gov't quickly approved a $315
million loan to complete the construction of a single nuclear
reactor at Cernavoda. Aside from meeting with Romanian President
Ion Iliescu and Prime Minister Petre Roman, the Canadian
entourage met with newly appointed Finance Minister, General
Victor Stanculescu. While much is known of Iliescu and Roman,
many dissidents and analysts have pointed to Stanculescu as being
the real power in Romania.
Michael Sullivan, a reporter for the U.S. National Public
Radio network interviewing Stanculescu in his office, described
how "two men dressed in coat and tails came in, bent at the
waist, bearing two delicate porcelain cups of steaming expresso.
.. . still bent at the waist, they walked backward out the door."
Later a third servant entered carrying a silver tray bearing a
single cigarette, then a fourth with a lighter.
Nicolae Ceausescu, often appearing on state occasions
bearing a sceptre, had a penchant for royal pretensions which may
have rubbed off onto Stanculescu, who had been Ceausescu's
personal liaison between the Army and Securitate. Stanculescu
shared the title of Deputy Defence Minister with Nicolae's
brother, Ilie Ceausescu who was noted for his chauvinist
historical speeches about the purity of the Romanian race which
had served as a counter-point to the hated barbarian Huns
(Hungarians).
Although Jake Epp and officials of the International Trade
Department of External Affairs may have been suitably impressed
with Stanculescu's command of colloquial English, they should
have been more impressed by other characteristics which do not
bode well for the Romanian people, and by extension, for the
Cernavoda CANDU deal.
The people's revolution against Ceausescu began Dec. 16/89
in Timisoara where thousands stood to defend Rev. Laszlo Tokes
against eviction. Emboldened by their own solidarity the
defenders later that night sacked local Communist Party offices.
The police and army bashed heads but did not shoot.
At a meeting with Ceausescu the following morning in
Bucharest, Defence Minister, Vasile Milea, admitted that
ammunition had not been distributed to the soldiers. Threatening
Milea with dismissal, Ceausescu turned to General Ion Coman,
Secretary to the Central Committee for Military and Security
Affairs, and gave the order to shoot unarmed civilians. It was 2
p.m. Accompanying Coman on the one-hour flight to Timisoara was
Stanculescu and Lt-General Mihai Chitsac, the man in charge of
Romania's chemical weapons.
Shortly after the plane landed, army troops used tear gas
and water cannon; an hour later, around 6 p.m. the army began
shooting civilians -- this was the massacre heard round the
world. While Ceausescu hob-nobbed in Iran for the next three
days, Stanculescu dutifly remained in Timisoara mopping up.
Stanculescu arrived in Bucharest early Friday morning (Dec
21) when he was summoned by an angry Ceausescu. Stanculescu
vainly begged off, complaining that his broken ankle was in a
fresh cast. He arrived in time to see his immediate superior,
Vasile Milea, being escorted to his "suicide." Stanculescu was
still standing with Ceausescu. The army began shooting civilians
in Cluj, in Sibiu, and continued in Timisoara.
The following morning Ceausescu gave his last speech;
Stanculescu ordered the helicopter which saved Ceausescu from his
immediate predicament. With the Army shooting civilians outside,
Stanculescu retreated to his office at the Defence Ministry.
Meanwhile, behind the glare of the revolution, a
long-planned coup was unfolding which involved Iliescu, Roman and
others -- Stanculescu had been excluded as untrustworthy. Major
General Stefan Kostyal, who had suffered house arrest for his
part in an 1984 coup plot, said Stanculescu "functioned within
the Army as the (Ceausescu) family's eyes and ears." Silviu
Brucan and General Nicolae Militaru, also original 1984 coup
plotters, denied in a joint interview that the army had suddenly
sided with the people during the first week of the revolution.
That afternoon Kostyal entered Stanculescu's office
demanding that Ilie Ceausescu in the next office be arrested.
Stanculescu demurred. When asked to provide transport for
Iliescu, Militaru and other co-conspirators, Stanculescu claimed
none was available. (Recall, he had no problem quickly finding
transport for Ceausescu two hours earlier.)
Shortly after their appearance on tv as the National
Salvation Front, Iliescu, Roman, Militaru, General Iulian Vlad,
the Securitate chief, and Gelu Voican-Voiculescu arrived in
Stanculescu's office. Iliescu informed him that General Militaru
was now the Minister of Defence. Immediately after this meeting
the Army stopped shooting.
At this point Stanculescu's role was to collaborate with
Voican-Voiculescu in organizing a military tribunal for Ceausescu
and his wife Elena. As it turned out, the tribunal took 55
minutes, hardly longer than it take to cook a big-man tv dinner
in a conventional oven. It was pre-cooked, fast-food justice. All
tribunal participants were military personnel, except for Voican,
an amateur astrologist who is currently Deputy Prime Minister.
Stanculescu, without his cast, and his ankle miraculously healed,
was present as an "observer."
On the leaked, extended video tape of the tribunal, the
prosecutor asked Elena Ceausescu; ". . . do you know who gave the
order to fire in Timisoara?"
Elena; "How should we know what the military did in
Timisoara?"
It is a question Stanculescu was well disposed to answer.
During the few minutes when the tribunal conferred with itself,
Stanculescu likely initiated a bit of historical revisionism,
because when the tribunal reconvened, the prosecutor addressed
the Ceausescus; "You have killed young people in Timisoara and
your security forces were disguised in soldiers uniforms." This
was the short, sanitized version of the video the Iliescu regime
presented to the world.
According to some members of the tribunal and the soldiers
selected for the execution, it was Voican-Voiculescu and
Stanculescu who had used their side-arms point-blank to bravely
blow out the brains of the Ceausescus. Others dispute this
rendition.
(Gelu Voican-Voiculescu, Deputy Prime Minister to Petre
Roman, is a mysteriously violent, Rasputin-like person. Much is
made of his long white beard and the fact that he is a devoted
astrologer. In September, 1990, during an interview on Radio Free
Europe, he suggested that the Hungarians in Transylvania "should
be exterminated."
In the immediate aftermath of the coal miners' riot in
Bucharest last month, Voican-Voiculescu, in a televised
Parliamentary speech, demanded the arrest of former Securitate
generals and others who had used the miners as cover for a coup.
Voican said the coup plotters had received financial backing from
Moscow's hard-line coup plotters and that Iliescu and Roman were
targeted for execution.)
Less than two months after Ceausescu's murder, Stanculescu
replaced Defence Minister Militaru who had been unceremoniously
dismissed along with Brucan from the Iliescu/Roman clique. The
following day, Feb 21/90, Stanculescu announced the "dissolution"
of the dreaded Securitate and its replacement with a new security
organ composed of members of the Army and "some technical
personnel" carried over from the Securitate.
At this moment, well-known dissident Doina Cornea, respected
for her integrity, resigned from the National Salvation Front
when it became apparent to her that "dubious elements --
profiteers, lackeys and liars -- had infiltrated the government."
Defence Minister Stanculescu has been no slouch in his job
to further the interests of his constituency -- the
military-security complex. John Sweeney in his recent book, The
Life & Evil Times of Nicolae Ceausescu, wrote of an enlightening
meeting he had with a "Bucharest doctor who wouldn't give his
name, 'They have all the best equipment at the military hospital
but we cannot have it.'
"General Stanculescu has been "wined and dined in London by
the City's bankers and been the guest of the British armaments
industry at the Farnborough air show.
"As Romania's economy sinks to levels below what it was
during Ceausescu's time and hospitals throughout Romania continue
to spread AIDS and other infections because they are unable to
afford inexpensive disposable syringes, Stanculescu once again
demonstrated his perverse power priorities. In February 1991, he
announced that the Army had received an EXTRA $250,000,000 to its
already inflated budget.
In late April 1991, the weekly newspaper, Europa, featured a
front page picture of Stanculescu over a facsimile of a thank-you
letter he had sent to the editor, Ilie Neascu, for contributing
10% of the weekly's profits to the Defence Ministry. Europa is
noted for its publication of largely anti-semitic articles and
was a leading crusader in the campaign to rehabilitate Marshall
Antonescu, the leader who had allied himself with the Iron Guard
and Hitler during World War II.
With the military-security apparatus in his hip pocket,
Stanculescu immediately took up his new post -- Finance Minister.
Was this Iliescu's wish that the purse-strings of Romania be
put into the hands of a "profiteer, lackey and liar?"

Stanculescu's products have murdered more people around the world than all
the Gypsies have alleged to have murdered in Romania.
When a Gypsy murders someone, it is with a handheld weapon, usually a
knife. These Gypsies kills face to face. These Gypsies are brave enough to
look their victim in the eye. Stanculescu's methods of killing are the
methods of cowards. Stanculescu is unable to face the victims of his
products. Stanculescu's supporters (Mark Cristian) are unable to face this
fact. Stanculescu's supporters (Mark Cristian) hide behind the tired and
worn out smoke screen of "subhuman predators" in order to divert the
general population's attention away from their (Stanculescu) subhuman
superpredation.
Stanculescu's financiers profit from death and destruction.
Poets, artists, etc profit from life and creativity.
