     FACULTY POSITION
     
     The Department seeks to recruit to the following position the post to 
     be taken up around 1 January 1996.
     
     FULL/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR with a substantial record of research in 
     environmental chemistry or chemical engineering, in particular 
     pollution associated with industrial activities, and at least five 
     years post-doctoral experience.
     
     The position is full-time and the salary is competitive at appropriate 
     international levels.
     
     The Department is situated in Budapest.  All teaching in the 
     University is in English and applicants must be fluent in the language 
     and have experience in teaching.
     
     Applications (2 copies) with a full c.v. and the names of two referees 
     are to be sent to the Secretary General, CEU, 54 Huvosvolgyi ut, 1021 
     Budapest, Hungary.  Further particulars can also be obtained from the 
     Secretary-General's office.
     
     The closing date for applications is the 24 July 1995.

Az ftp://othello.admin.kth.se/pub/misc/ojarnef/isorunes/ alatt is csak gif
(=kep) a betuk leirasa. Font (betukeszlet) sem art persze, es biztos tudnak
a szakemberek barmit barmire atkonvertalni. A nehezseg inkabb a szep norma-
leiras ismert tarsasagok vagy professzorok reszvetelevel, szoval nezzetek meg,
mit irtak ezek a svedek a runairas-ajanlatukban. Es a sok lehetseges egybeirt
betu- (leginkabb massalhangzo-) csoport is: ha mar lehet, legyen az igazi!

_I_ and _could_ are not much used independantly, neither is _go_ (it would be
imperative), only _home_ is and (surprise!) so is its counterpart _haza_.

_haza_, _me(gy/n)_, _-n-_, _-e'k_, and four syllables too: just the same!

No, the compact one is French: _rentrer_ instead of the two-part _hazamegy_.
It will surely stay longer than these uncompact Hungarian and English :-)

You are not so lazy: in Hungarian too when you lose something, you
replace it somehow.

Nem 17. ez a század? :-)
1610... igen, például Balassi is eléggé érthető ma is mindenkinek, ez kb.
400 év. De 100 évvel korábbi, 1500 körüli szöveg sokkal nehezebben olvasható.
Állítólag angolul is ez a határ.

Elsiklottál a következő részlet felett:

  "mert ő különben be nem járt az asszony házában,"

A TIPP-en írtál a -ba, -be ragok -ban, -ben helyén való használatról.
Íme itt egy példa a fordítottjára. Illetvbe a jó ég tudja. Lehet,
hogy a 'be' jelentése itt: 'bent'.

I agree that it is an 'ultimate' form, because just one sound, the 'r'
makes the differance. No way to make this simpler.

Looking for my "roots"/ Paternal grand parents both immigrated
 to US in late 1800's.

Grandmothers' name was "Julia" and supposedly the daughter of the
reigning "queen" at the time and was sent to US as an ambassadress
 to the US. At least that is what I had been told.

Grandmother met grandfather here in the US, married him and settled
somwhere in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. They later moved to Plant City,
Florida where they raised strawberries for a time.

Both are now deceased.as well as my father.

The speeling of the last name was changed to Tershansy. Don't know
the original spelling. but a photo of a "Great great Uncle" use to
hang in the hall way of the home ion Plant City, FL.

Grandfater was supposedly smuck out of Hungary by friends after he
had reportedly be insolent to a superior officer and under a death
sentance. The infraction was that he had stepped on the toes of a 
superior officer. I don't know if this was intentional or not.

His full name was: Albert A. Tershansy.

If you know of any information about either of them (agood or bad)
