For the last two months or so I have been out of the range of intenet
accessibility, so that it seems I missed that 25% stuff. I guess the "winter
holidays" (that is the alcohol and food ;-)) have put a lot of pressure on the 
other guys's minds because otherwise I doubt they would have missed this (did
they really miss it?). 
But back to this thread. It started with a population dynamics message posted h
ere
by Anthony. The numbers there  were by far higher that the 25% and still nobody
contested them. So the issue here was whether population dynamics is or not 
a significant sign of an antiminority policy...

I think you may have missed a few news groups.

There is a sublingual element of Asian people on Hokkaido who speak a
dialect similar to Korean called Mario-Sup Bro II.  (I'm conducting a
post-doctoral study on this topic.)  Thirty-three in that language is
pronounced "awat tigoo syam."

It was way before the "winter holidays" and nobody missed Alexander's post.
Even you commented it, without contesting the numbers :-)

I haven't seen those numbers (I don't have Usenet access in Romania, where
I spend my "winter holidays" :-) but numbers far higher than 25% are
possible only if we ignore other nationalities present in that area at that
moment (after removing 60% Romanians and 25% Hungarians, there are only 15%
left for other nationalities in 1918).

To return to your issue: if population dynamics is a significant sign of
an antiminority policy, then one must conclude that the German and Jewish
minorities were oppressed orders of magnitude more than the Hungarian
minority during the communist era.  The communists have "exterminated"
these minorities, haven't they :-)

I am doing some research for an MBA class on privatization. My interest
lies in comparing privatization methods in Hungary to those of the Czech
Republic. In a broad sense, I know that the Czechs adopted a much faster
pace than Hungary did. Have vouchers ever been used in a Hungarian
privatization?

I'm visiting San Francisco from 17th (take-off from London)/18th

I know this is not an easy question, but I'm graduating from college this 
year and would love to work in Budapest, so I'm wondering how I can get 
information on finding a job there.  I was in Budapest for 2,5 months 
last year, and I had tried to find an internship, but was unsuccessful 
because: a)I had time limits, b)some of the people I called did not 
know that internship meant being a slave without getting paid and thought 
they would have to pay me and c)my Hungarian was not nearly fluent; 
probably also because of other reasons I can't think of right now.  
Anyway, I have no time limits now and my Hungarian is somewhat better, so 
please give me suggestions as to how I can go abouts getting a job 
in Budapest.  All suggestions will be highly appreciated!  Thanks in advance,

Tegnap (jan. 30) az Eurosporton profibox közvetítés volt Francia-
országból.
Az egyik 6 x 3 perces előmérkőzés 67.5 kg-ban a magyar Szabó
Lóránt  (a franciáknak Lorent) (5:0:0) és egy német fickó (6:3:1)
között folyt. Sajnos az utóbbi nevét nem jegyeztem meg.
Az első menetet a német nyerte. (A riporter szerint a harmadikat
is, szerintem nem). A német egy jó lábunkájú, sokatmozgó, válto-
zatosan, látványosan boxoló figura volt. Szabó - alacsonyabb is
volt-, zártan boxolt az első menetben, ment -haláli nyugalommal-
a német után. A pofonokat lerázta magáról, mint kutya a vizet.
A második menettől kezdve a német lement keljfeljancsiba. A ma-
radék öt menetben ötször fogott padlót, benyalt kábé nyolc megren-
dítő erejü pofont is, (olyat, ami után amatőr meccsen repül a tö-
rülköző vagy a bíró leállítja a küzdelmet) egyszer pedig megin-
tették fogásért. Két menetben a gong a földön fekve érte. Egysze-
rüen tehetetlen volt Szabó erős jobbcsapottjaival szemben, por-
celánból volt az álla, mig Szabót a tisztán bekapott pofonok sem
tudták kizökkenteni nyugalmából.
 A mikrofon a magyar sarokhoz volt közelebb, ami azt jelentette,

A főmérkőzés Akim Tafer es az ukrán Valery Vikhor kőzőtt folyt.
Tafer volt európabajnok, de az utolsó két meccsében kiütötték
(a legutóbbit magam is láttam), ezért most szereztek neki egy
kutyaütőt, akit meg tud verni. Nos, az ukrán kutyaütő szerintem
megverte Tafert, akit a bíró is keményen támogatott. Egy leüté-
sét egyszerü elcsúszásnak itélte meg, és többször előfordult,
hogy a már félig kiütött Taferröl leszedte a sorozó ukránt és
figyelmeztetésbe részesítette -csak az ördög tudja, hogy miért.
Szerintem pontozással ˇgy is nyert az ukrán, egyszerüen annyi
tiszta ütése volt testre, míg Tafer főleg csak fejre dolgozott.
Mindenesetre győztesnek a 8-ik menetben a lábán alig álló,
rongyávert Tafert hozta ki mind a három bíró.
