For those of you interested in an English translation of many of the 
articles in the Vatra Romaneasca, here is:

9.Vatra Romaneasca supports the principle that we Romanians can become the
sole masters of our homeland if we conduct surveillance on a continuous basis
over the existence and activities of Romania's national minorities in all
areas.

10. As far as possible, Vatra Romaneasca supports the continued existence of
the former secret police, the Securitate, because we need competent people to
carry out the above-named purposes, that is, people who have been trained to
demonstrate absolute loyalty to well-defined goals.

11. Vatra Romaneasca guarantees to every one of its members that it will,
using its own special methods, secure the necessary financial support for
propaganda, not just from influential political figures at home, but also from
several more or less clandestine organizations abroad, particularly French and
Canadian ones.

12. At the same time, Vatra Romaneasca intends to block relations any large-
scale opening or expansion of relations with Europe, and, if necessary, we
will undermine these contacts, since they threaten to destroy our national
sentiments which are so strong and noble.

13. Based on the declaration made at Alba Iulia on on December 1, 1918, which
is reflected in the Romanian Constitution of 1923; and in view of the actual
situation today and the historical rights of the majority Romanian population,
which has always lived as a homogenous, evenly distributed group in this
ancient land, Vatra Romaneasca demands that our nation's unity not suffer any
of the setbacks which would result from the establishment of seperatist
administrative enclaves. These would repeat the Stalinist dictatorship in
having negative effects on every aspect of social and economic life and would,
as in the past, favour certain sociual and ethnic groups at the expense of the
majority Romanian population.

14. Vatra Romaneasca will work to indoctrinate its members in this spirit,
using slogans which are as explicit as possible, to attract the support of all
those people who share these sentiments, and to call the attention of others
to those tendencies which we fear.

15. The popularity of Vatra Romaneasca will be secured throughout the world by
way of propaganda activities, appealing to the anti-Hungarian,(antimaghiare)
anti-Roma (antitiganeate) and anti-German (antigermane) sentiments which have
deep roots in the souls of Romanians. From the very outset, we want every
Romanian to be clear about our final goal: a Greater Romania in which alien
elements have no place and will not be tolerated. The moment has come to use
any and all means to solve the minority problem, definitively, irreversibly
and forever.

16. Transylvania was always ours, it is ours now, and it will remain ours
forever! Unfortunately, this holy Romanian land is still soiled by the Asiatic
hordes of Huns, (huni) Roma (tigani) and other garbage. Let us unite, to drive
them out of the country. Out with the Huns (the bozgors the aliens and
homeless), who never did have a home anywhere in our land, and out with the
Roma, who are the shame of our country. We want a cleansed and pure Greater
Romania! We demand the return of all stolen Romanian lands. Now or never! Do
not be afraid to fight and spill their filthy blood! The hairy apes have no
business in our beloved homeland. Now is the best moment in history to get rid
of them, and of every person who does not have Rumanian blood running in his
veins. we were partly successful out chasing out the Germans, but there are
many others left for whom we have no use. Do everything in your power to be
rid of all of them. Ceausescu did not live long enough to destroy them, but
our nation need not hesitate in continuing the battle! We have no need for a
Switzerland! We have no need for any kind of Europe! We are Romanians; do not
let yourselfs be misled by Pro-Europe slogans! What they intend is the
annihilation of the Romanian nation. We are a wise people! The common European
house can mean nothing less than the tearing apart of the national and
territorial unity of Romania.

UNITY!!!! UNITY!!!!! UNITY!!!!!

Only Vatra Romaneasca -- we need nothing else. The Romanian language along
must rule! We refuse any longer to all kinds of squeaky tongues: not one word,
unless it is in Romanian!!! We call upon every Romanian of good will to join
our efforts, which for the time being are centered in Tirgu Mures; but we have
faith in the Romanian people that our activitieswill be spread throughout the
entire region of 1918 Greater Romania.

17. In view of the ethnic mix in Tirgu Mures, where approximately fifty
percent of the population is Romanian and fifty percent Hungarian, Vatra
Romaneasca will concentrate its activities in this city until such time as the
Romanian nationalist spirit is strongly ingrained in Romanian public opinion,
and in order to block every demand of the Hungarians. Because of the mixed
character of its population, we believe Tirgu Mures provides the most
appropriate soil in which to plant our ideals.

18. Vatra Romaneasca considers it a primary task to put into practice the
various methods and forms of intimidation. In this regard we will either do
away with the most talented leaders among the enemy, or force them into
positions as insignificant as possible -- this is Vatra Romaneasca's most
important, immediate step. Then, we will let non-Romanians know that they have
no business in Romania, and that for them, the future holds nothing for them
as far as their physical and spiritual safety is concerned. In this way, it
will become inevitable for the hold Romanian land to be purified of its
shameful blots through the emigration of these elements. Afterwards, those
remaining behind will be annihilated through the most effective means.

19. In the interest of purifying Romania, it will be particularly important
for Vatra Romaneasca to declare its political neutrality in the near future.
In this way, from the outset we can encourage political figures from every
party, as well as individuals not involved in politics, to participate, and to
win their unconditional, unreserved sympathies.

20. Transylvania, the holy Romanian land, is the territory most contaminated,
primarily by Hungarians, but by others as well. For this reason, Vatra
Romaneasca believes it necessary to concentrate its activities in this region,
without neglecting the areas populated by other nationalities, primarily,
Roma, Jews, Tartars and others.

21. In the same way, we believe it necessary to inform Romanian public opinion
of the danger posed by these alien elements to Romanian culture and to Romania
as a whole. In fact, we must clearly emphasize that the very physical safety
of Romanians is in danger, and that we are being forced to remain in inferior
social positions because of the efforts of these alien elements, whatever the
direction, goal and effect of their aspirations.

And here the manifesto contains the seal of Vatra Romaneasca, which is
identical to the seal found on other documents of VR which they did not
disown. The documents shared the same policy direction with the only
difference being that the Feb 20/94 manifesto is crude, whereas the other
documents of VR are politically correct. (Isn't that correct M Cristian?)

VR is not particularly marginal in Romanian politics. It has political
influence. In a statement released April 4, 1990, after the Tirgu Mures clash,
the Illiescu claimed that VR "which, though not political, uses its own means
to protect the national dignity of Romanians while recognizing the democratic
rights of all minorities."

When asked in a subsequent interview whether VR was dangerous, Petre Roman
said, "No, not the least. This organization is Romanian, but not nationalist.
It has as its members those Romanians who express their ties to Transylvania
in concrete form." (El Pais, Madrid, April 15/90)

On December 1, 1990, in Alba Iulia, commemorating Romania's new national
holiday, Prime Minister Petre Roman smiled broadly and raised his fist and
explicitly incited the assembled crowd, many with VR placards, to jeer the
speaker for the Hungarian Democratic Allinace off the stage.

But then again, I'm sure this is known in SCM.

Innocent he may not be. But he did something that most people ain't got the
guts to do:- kick the shite out of one of those offensive, skin-head thugs

is available in the UK on either Connoisseur or Artificial Eye,

Szervusz Joe,
Gotthard took his young relatives from Hungary to King's Dominion the
day before, and suffered severe skin and brain damage during that intense
immerge into the American mainstream culture.
I could not go for the talk, sorry, if he was there, I must have missed a big
one. Frankly, I have never met a single Romanian in my life .
I will ask some folks this Sunday, when the father of all Hungarians,
Gyula Horn will talk about what left of Hungary after Trianon.

Let me help out here. The Hungarians originally called the Bulgarians, 
Nandor, as an example see Nandorfehervar (Beograd)  or the White City of 
the Bulgars and there are several Nandor name containg localities in TS 
also. Thus Gardisi was obviously referring to the Bulgarians before they 
were Slavicized just as the Hungarians called them by that name.

As someone pointed out to me when I complained about certain antidemocratic
rules iin the US that so far the US had to control only the IMMIGRATION
there is no law against EMIGRATION.
I think the same holds for Singapore.

Under current Hungarian law, citizenship can be obtained through
parents.  If one of the parent is/was a Hungarian citizen, then
citizenship can be claimed.
Your friend's best shot s to contact any Hungarian embassy or consulate
and get the necessary infromation as to what (mass) of  paperwork he

While I am not current on the in places for Budapest, you should visit Buda
the area around the Matthias church is nice for walking around, while up 
there, you may visit the old royal palace which is a museum now. Books are 
now more expensive in Hungary also, but there is a good used book shop 
across the street from the National Museum, which is also worth a visit, in 
Pest. The Museum of Fine Arts at Hero's Square is also a good place, If I 
were you, I would avoid the smaller scale replica of Vajdahunyad castle, 
there are rumors of smaller scale Draculs hanging around there :-).
Vaci street in Pest is a must, just to see that there are people who have 
lots of money and the Academy has its book shop there. History section is 
upstairs.

For short trip, you may want to go to Szentendre a small originally mainly 
Serbian village north of Buda that survived without much destruction thru 
the years or visit Visegrad a little further up along the river, they used 
to have boat trips up there. Wine and food is good almost anyplace if you 
are not vegetarian.

		93.6, 94.4, 94.6, 96.4 MHz-en sugározza az Osztrak 
		Rádió a Burgenlandi regionális müsorokat, ezek közt
		hetente egyszer szerepel egy fél órás magyar nyelvü 
		blokk is.

		URH-n sugároz müsort magyarul (103.6), és lehetséges, 
		hogy az 1557 kHz-en is. Naponta kétszer, reggel 6-tol
		6.30-ig és este is.

	18.45-19.00: 11603, 9433 kHz (25.31 m.)
		    nyáron a 11603 es 15615 kHz.
		A magyar nyelvü adást Izraelben URH-n is sugározzak 
		idonként
		(pontosabban, ami biztos, hogy az Öböl-háború idején 
		az óvintézkédéseket közlô adásokat több helyi FM-adó is 
		sugározta)

		hasonlítható

Szabadka (Subotica, Szerbia):
	Egész nap: 91.5 (88.9) MHz URH-n (FM)
	1089 kHz (középhullám)
		Inkább fiataloknak szóló müsorok, modern nemzetközi
		és szerb zenével, szerb nyelvü reklámokkal is 
		megszakítva. Csak magyarul munkanapokon 12-15:30. 	
		Egyébként kétnyelvű adások. (1994. 04)

KIS-JUGOSZLÁVIA, Szerbia
	YU-ECO RADIO
		Kétnyelvű adás, mely 1993 óta "kísérleti" jelleggel sugároz. 
		1994. áprilisában legalábbis még sugárzott.
		URH, kis teljesítménnyel. Frekv, adó helye nem ismeretes.

		müsorideje, míg vegül az amerikai takarékossági programnak
		és a politikai változásoknak köszönhetoen megszünt.
		Magyarországon még tovább élhetett volna, de a 
		frekvenciamoratóriumnak "hála", nem kapott frekv.-t.
		Egyébként jelenleg bázisát Prágába készül áthelyezni.
