You know, oddly enough, this outrageous spam is actually on topic for 
the newsgroup where I found it, alt.fan.james-bond. 

There's been a lot of debate among fans lately about whether Bond 
makes any sense in a post cold-war world.  My personal opinion is that 
espionage is even more important in a multi-factional world than in a 
battle between two giant superpowers and that this opens up a whole 
range of plots for 007.  I have to admit, however, that the producers 
seem uncertain what to do without the big nasty commies and keep 
churning up former Soviet conspiracies that hung around after the fall 
and so on.

A return of the Soviet Union would certainly put them back in their 
preferred milieu, and while I certainly wouldn't want to see the world 
plunged back into the iron grip of totalitarian dictatorship and 
nuclear angst, it does make for a pretty spiffy Bond flick...

Thanks for the input, man.  You've really helped out around here.

1. Have you had some direct experience with the Romanian
Securitate, or you speak based on rumors?
2. Can you be more specific when you talk about the extreme 
hatred and ethnocentrism to which Magyar population in Romania
is subjected to? By being specific I mean real life persons
and situations in which they were persecuted, harassed, sentenced
fired (or any other specific circumstances) in Romania as a result
of their ethnicity. And please, do not tell stories you have red
in newspapers, but stories you were told first hand by such
persecuted people... I suggest you not to take for granted 
anything you find in your printed media. (Do you want us to 
belive in Hungary there are no extremist groups- of fascist
or communist type-, parties or newspapers that propagate their
sick ideas??? In that case Hungary would be the only country
in the world to lack extremism... WOW! Congratulations!)
By the way, I can give you scores of examples of Romanians
persecuted in Transylvania in regions with dominant Magyar
population. This stories are published in our extremist
press, but this doesn't mean I give any credit to any printed
junk. I know a lot of people who were reading "Romania Mare"
just to get informed about this new (at the time) dangerous
phenomenon. I bet a big chunk of those 300 000 (or 500 000)
copies were bought by Magyars only to get in touch, of course
not because they were sharing those ideas. Also, a lot of Jews
were buying the paper for the same reason (you may not know
that this paper is also anti-semitic). Intelectuals, 
human right activists and many other groups criticized and
humiliated in this dirty publications were also regularly
purchasing it only to get informed and better defend against
these attacks. The fact that a lot of people were reading it
doesn't mean they were approving its ideology. Most of the people
know very well who is publishing this garbage.

4. At last please let us know the exact date and circumstances

	Have you no concept of history? What Mr. Evans says about the USSR is 
basically true. I have heard just as much from other former citizens of 
the USSR. Read THE GULAG ARCHIPELIGO. Read THE NEW RUSSIANS. Read any

	Well, since I'm a Russian major I think I can safely say that I have a
somewhat decent understanding of Russian/Soviet history (though my
concentration is admitedly in literature); and knowing the current situation, I
can definitely sympathize with the people's frustration with the Yeltsin
government's failings, but I cannot sympathize with the white washing of Soviet
history.

Summary and excerpts from full page interview. Translation from
the Estonian by Press Spokesman's Office, Estonian Foreign
Ministry.

The first third of the article consists of Vladimir Zhirinovsky's
predictions and opinions on the Russian presidential elections.
He predicts about 22-23% for Zyuganov and 11% or more for himself
and believes that a run-off between Yeltsin and Zyuganov is
likely to be won by Zyuganov.  He will not recommend that his
supporters give their votes to either and would not himself form
a coalition with either.  He would lose too much credibility by
such a move, he wouldn't gain anything and he does not need the
"shame" of being in such a coalition.  Zhirinovsky is convinced
that, if Yeltsin wins, there will be new elections within a year;
if Zyuganov wins in perhaps two years.  He does not rule out the
chance of bloody conflicts.

VZ:  "I don't need a ministerial position.  I need a blossoming
Russia.  I would like it very much if the situation between
Pihkva oblast and Estonia were to become more tense, because then
I would get markedly more votes there.  In 1993 I got 43% of the
votes there. ...
I'm telling you honestly that I'm doing everything to liquidate
the Baltic States.  I'm saying this openly so that later there
will be no cause for baseless accusations.

MM:  What if the Baltic states are not willing just to give up
their independence so easily and begin to react, what might be
the results?
VZ:  I believe that partisan warfare will begin.  You have
forests.  You will begin to destroy trains and to set off bombs
in the cities.  On the other hand, you are too cultured to use
force.  I don't envy your fate.

MM:  Do you think that it will be that simple just to liquidate
the independence of a sovereign state?  The world isn't the same
as it was in 1940.
VZ:  Look at what the Turks are doing to the Kurds.  The world
is silent. For Israel the entire Middle East is one big shooting
range.  They can send an airplane to drop bombs wherever they
wish.
You made a fatal mistake when you left Russia.  That's all.  Now
they will begin to eliminate you as a subject of international
relations.  You feel that you are independent, but this will end
for you with your own blood.  At the same time it should be clear
that Russia will not use a direct attack to take over the Baltic
States.

MM:  But what will Russia use?
VZ:  We have plenty of people in prisons here.  I'l tell them,
you'll get your freedom if you makes some moves in Tallinn.  And
they'll make some moves, they'll burn some streets.... Therefore
it would be smart to evacuate the Estonian government to London
already now.
I really love the Balts ("pribalte"). I don't say this because
I hate you.  No.  You have to understand, that Russia has to come
out of this conflict somehow.  This will only succeed with the
help of war.

MM:  Out of which conflict?
VZ:  Out of that crisis into which Russia was pushed after the
collapse of the Soviet Union and of the economy.  Everything has
declined - morality, religion, ethics, the army, the KGB.  We
have to come out of this crisis.  How?  But through just such
steps, through aggression.
You haven't had luck geographically because you are located next
door to us.  If you were somewhere in the vicinity of Norway,
there would be quiet.  You are directly on our path to the sea.
Russia needs ports and therefore the occupation of the Baltic
States is inevitable.
To strengthen and develop Russia we need transportation, the sea.
But at present we are cut off from the ports.  Like Germany after
the 1918 Versailles peace treaty... So,too, in 1991 the
germination of the conflict which will break out in 2001 or 2011
was started.  War is inevitable and Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania
will disappear completely and finally from the world political
map.  A big war between Russia and NATO, Russia and the USA is
inevitable.  It is terrible, what is coming.  You are directly
in the path of war.  You cannot seem to understand that the world
cannot exist without war.  There is a big war ahead.
If I were an Estonian, I would stand up for my freedom in the
same way.
This is our fate to live in such a world.

MM:  Will your predictions of war come true only if you come to
power?
VZ:  No.  This will happen one way or the other.  If the
Communists come to power, they will restore the Communist Party
there.  Rueuetel will return to power.  [Arnold Rueuetel, former
Chairman of the Presidium of the Estonian Supreme Soviet, now
Deputy Speaker of the Estonian Riigikogu]

MM:  Rueuetel might not be the worst option?
VZ:  If Rueuetel becomes the First Secretary of the Estonian
Communist Party.  Or another Estonian Communist is found and sent
to rule you there.  This would be the worse option for you,
because if I were in power, you wouldn't have to study the
history of the Communist Party.

MM:  Why has Russia always tried to solve its domestic problems
by foreign expansion?
VZ:  This is the fate of all big nations.  This is what the the
USA does.  Look, where all they have fought.  Somalia, Liberia,
Nicaragua, Cuba, Bosnia, South Vietnam.  Look at how the Germans
behaved.  ... That's life.  What can we do about it.  You, small
nations, are like pocket change ...

MM:  It is being said that you have changed your image and are
not as energetic in pursuing your ideas.  Perhaps you're tired?
VZ:  No, they just try to create my image as it suits them.  I've
been alleged to be in the Communist Party, the KGB, I've been
[labelled] a fascist, a fool, or sick, or a drug addict, even
some kind of a sex maniac.  ..
They understand that my popularity is rising and therefore it is
necessary to blacken me at all costs.   One American national
security institute wrote that Zhirinovsky's coming to power in
Russia in June 1996 would be a national catastrophe for the USA.
They write correctly, national catastrophe, for everything will
have to start from zero.  Billions of dollars have been wasted.

MM: Apparently you have heard the saying:  that if there were no
Zhirinovsky, he would have to be invented.  What gives you the
strength to persist in this political insane asylum?
VZ: I get strength from the knowledge that I am necessary for
everyone.  You are happy that I exist.

I will answer your question, even though as I mentioned earlier, detailing pers
onal accounts do 
not necessarily lend themselves to the formulation of a theory.  But I have bot
h personal and 
historically documented examples.  Two friends of mine, one from Brasov and one
 from Cluj have 
suffered numerous personal assaults and harrassment in form of break-ins, beati
ngs, being called 
"boanghen" and "hortisti", but more interestingly, a couple of Romanian friends
 of mine, 
presently living in Bucharest, who were originally from Transylvania, have suff
ered similar 
abuse because of thier occasional protest at the treatment of Hungarians.

And by the way, I do not take for granted that the information I read in differ
ent publications 
is always accurate.  That's why I am particularly selective in the things I cho
ose to read.

My friend, two wrongs don't make a right.  Just because there is a neo-fascisti
c movement in 
Hungary, by no means diminishes the fact that there is one in Romania.  In fact
 it is my 
recollection that Romanians themselves often try to make themselves feel superi
or to the 
Hungarians by emphasizing their Latin roots as opposed to the Huns whom they de
scribe as 
primitive and uncivilized.So what about it?  How can you then compare the two?

As for this Antonio guy I do think that he is funny. But probably not the
way that he intended to. He's sort of like that suave, well mannered lad who
tells holocaust jokes at a bar mitzvah. A real winner, this guy, to ignore

production of the majority of the top twenty butchers of the twentieth 
century.

Geez, the Swede's had it so good that they voted their wonderful
socialist brothers out of office! I wonder why is that? Perhaps 
not all was going so well in the Swedish paradise? Like perhaps 
they were using up the surpluses that previous generations had 
set aside for growth and future use and instead used them on 
current consumption? Perhaps they so depleted the social capital
of Sweden that it became clear to a majority that this could not
go on any more? My what a wonderful system!

You seem to be another example of the wishful thinking that has led to
so many deaths at the hands of communism. You people are the 
Charlie Browns of the political world. Maybe if you try one more 
time you won't fall on your behinds this time. Isn't one century
of failed experimentation with variations of a basic concept

A Petofi hid es a Szt. Laszlo ("Lagymanyosi") hid budai hidfoje villamossal
es busszal egyarant megkozelitheto (lett volna), ezen kivul gyaloghidat is
terveztek a Soroksari utrol. De a Duna felol hajoval megkozeliteni se kutya.
Biztosan lettek volna olyanok is akik uszva kozelitik meg. :-)

Ax exponak Budapesten egyetlen fo helyszine lett volna, ezert nem ertem a
kerdest.
